Development is on back seat, parties bet on freebies, caste, community

Aiming to ousted BJP government, Congress banks on farmers and caste census issue while in an attempt to retain power, BJP bets on women and tribal community. A look at two months long campaign trail by both the main parties and their manifesto highlights there is little space for core issue of development.
Barring attacks on BJP government over corruption, Congress promises allowance for unemployment, women etc. same is the case with BJP promised to provide free ration to the poor for the next five years and LPG cylinders to women at ₹450. Notably, the party pitched for continuation of Ladli Bahana Scheme already during the campign.
In Oct Congress party released its manifesto with a slew of promises includs 27 per cent reservation for OBCs, and to form an IPL team of the state, a caste-based survey, 27% reservation to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in government jobs, farm loan waiver up to ₹2 lakh, make school education free and unemployment allowance for youth ranging from ₹ 1,500 to ₹ 3,000 per month for two years.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called it that ” Not a manifesto of the Congress, it is a letter of lies. Five years ago, they made over 900 promises to the public but did not even fulfil nine of them. Till today people are yearning. When will the youth get Rs 4,000 unemployment allowance? When will the bonus on the support price be given? Not just one but many promises were given, all of them turned out to be false and today again presented a letter of lies,”
On Saturday, BJP released manifesto making promise of tribal community uplilftment with a budget of ₹ 3 lakh crore for the empowerment of tribal communities,

Opposition reacts to BJP’s manifesto
Reacting to the BJP’s manifesto, Pradesh Congress Committee, Chief, Kamalnath has said that ” There are no jobs for the youth, no respect for the sisters, no loan waiver for the farmers, no pension for the employees, no reservation for the OBCs.” The party had announced to give Rupees 3000 to Betiyan but it is missing in the manifesto.Congress is waiving off the loans of farmers, what are you doing?
